About Your Role

Provide safe, compassionate person-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with consumers and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve safe quality care outcomes that meet the goals of the consumer.

Responsible for the supervision of Enrolled Nurses and AINs.

The Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse provides high-quality evidence-based physical and mental health care to consumers, their families, and carers within a recovery and trauma-informed care framework.

The service provides mental health care for consumers aged 16 years and over. Consumers with complex physical, mental health, and substance abuse diagnoses are admitted.

The MH units are committed to providing contemporary and innovative approaches to care. The units recognize consumers with mental health issues as experts in their own conditions and strive to provide an optimistic and positive approach to care with a focus on collaborative decision-making and care planning.

Working with consumers, their families and carers and other service partners is central to the model of service delivery promoted by the units. The units work closely with the consumer, their family, carers, and local community-based services to support optimal recovery.
